Cool Place with a Bunch of Americans

It might be a very rare occurrence...all Perrigrinos tonight are Amercans sitting at this table with the wonderful proprieter, Elena, who is Spanish, standing behind me. Her boyfriend, Peter, who checked us in, is from California.  It was the easiest check-in ever. And, one of the best meals ever. Elena is an awesome cook! And, she is a gifted artist whose works are hung throughout the albergue. Peter grows the majority of veggies and herbs that are used for the meal. They are a perfect team.

We had a good day. I took so many awesome pictures today that it was difficult to pick which one to highlight, but, as so often happens, it all boils down to the people we are meeting.

Gretchen continues to improve. We are now on great trails, with great markers. We saw a really awesome Cathedral today. We had lunch at a sweet cafe by the river, and watched these weird ducks and more get fed by two wonderful Spanish ladies.

It was a good day!

    1. The picture doesn't really show them that well as we were on kind of a patio/balcony and the river was 20-30 feet below. I think they might have been some version of Muscovy duck, only bigger.

  3. Good to know you had a good day. May there be many more. If you made it to your intended destination and there were only 5 beds, I see 6 people in the photo. Who got kicked out and slept on the floor?

    1. Our app said there were only 5 beds. There has been a growth spurt of beds. At least 20. The three women, one man, and Gretchen and me. So, we each had our own little private section. And, 2 of the three women were originally from Maine!

    1. We have stayed in very few "new" places. The buildings are all stone and cement. inside and out, and they are all connected. I have not seen one fire station since I got here. I guess the stone and cement have a definite security when it comes to fires. Hence the old buildings.

    2. No rust, no decay, no termites . . . I think they're onto something. Mike
