Morning Mass at Lourdes
We attended the English morning Mass at Lordes today. It was beautiful! We plan on going again tomorrow morning before beginning our actual walk.
There are so many nuns here! Many of you know that I am fascinated by nuns. As a 10 year Catholic, nuns are harder to find now, particularly as there are few in the states that wear habits. I would love to talk to one. There are many orders of nuns here at Lourdes. I love that! Most of them don't speak English. Even if they did, I probably would be too shy to intrude on their Lourdes experience.

Such a beautiful surrounding for a Mass.......looks like it might be a little cool there?

Super cool! Amazing to see all the thousands of extremely devout people with such beautiful faith.
DeleteLooks beautiful. Did you get to join the candlelight procession?

We are going tonight.
DeleteHow inspirational. What is Temp? I bet you will meet up with a Nun or two on your walks. Dick
ReplyDeleteThe temps are between 65 and 70, very comfortable.
DeleteI am counting on getting to talk to a nun in the near future. Today we did meet Fr. James, who will be walking the path starting Monday. We had great fun talking with him. It is unlikely we will meet up with him again, as our timing is different but, it was neat to talk fo him.
What a beautiful place. Would love to see it. Nuns are usually very friendly and would probably love to speak with you. Kathy
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple of opportunities, but they didn't speak English.
DeleteIt's exciting to know that you have actually started. In some ways I am envious.
ReplyDeleteIf you want nuns, we can arrange that for you!! Plan your next trip to New Hampshire for June. We have a wonderful group that visits our parish every year. They even wear habits.
That would be great!
DeleteHow fortunate to have this opportunity prior to beginning your trek. I actually have a num in my family and a Jesuit priest in my mom's generation. He's probably no longer living. They've always seemed like regular people to me. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
ReplyDeleteMy favorite blessed mother apparitions! Please say a prayer for me Gretchen!! Xoxo, Gemma
ReplyDeleteYou and John, and the girls, too!! Many blessings! Thanks for helping me prepare for the journey! xoxo Gretchen
ReplyDeleteWow how exciting!!! I’m so happy for you both! Prayers Joanna
ReplyDeleteHere are our nuns from Ascensoin we had a 83 Birthday party for sister immaculata and we celebrated sister Joseph too!
ReplyDeleteCan’t get the picture to load 😟
DeleteSister Immaculata is wonderful. She visited Bill in the hospital and was the only one who came to Kindred. She always makes sure she comes over and asks me how I am doing when she sees me.
